There are multiple other ways to use this Short and Long Vowel Sort Activities Resource, here are a few of my favorite ways:
- You can place all the cards in a bag and have a student reach into the bag to pick a card. Read the word or state the picture and then decide short or long, let the class agree if it is right or wrong. Perfect for those dead five minutes when you have lined up to go somewhere but you're a few minutes early!
- Mix TWO SETS of the cards together, with two students, deal 5 cards to each student and then place the remaining cards face down. Use as a Go Fish card game! {Word Cards and Picture Cards, Word Cards and Word/Picture Cards, Picture Cards and Word/Picture Cards gives you three different ways to play }
- Lay all the cards upside down on the floor and use as a Concentration (some call it Memory) Game! Modify it to match two cards or match all three!
- Tape the worksheets up around your room and the students visit each one answering only one question. Perfect for an entire class review!
