If Your Family Wants Their Favorite Ooey Gooey Butter Cake....
{Read with the same concept as If You Give a Mouse a Cookie!}
During the Fourth of July Weekend, if you family wants their favorite Ooey, Gooey Butter Cake, don't double the recipe.
Because if you double the recipe, it will fluff up in the oven and overflow all over the place.
When your cake overflows all over the oven, it will turn into an interesting marshmallow mixture.
When the marshmallow mixture lands all over the heating element, the ooey, gooey, disaster will start to toast and smolder.
As your kitchen starts to fill with smoke, your Fourth of July Weekend will start to resemble a Girl Scout Camp burning to the ground.
When your house starts to smell like the Girl Scout Camp burning to the ground, you pull the hot, molten disaster out of the oven, thus POURING most of it all over the heating element.
As the cake mix starts to spontaneously combust from your efforts, the house will fix with smoke.
As the house fills with smoke, your vicious pit bulls will run and hide outdoors, thinking it "is all about them!"
As you gather the sad, old, senior pit bulls to come back inside, you allow the oven to cool off.
As you allow the over to cool off to clean it, you send your 22 y/o back into town to buy more ingredients to make ANOTHER Ooey Gooey Butter Cake. Since you now live in the middle of nowhere and you are allergic to the butter sold locally, that round tips takes an hour. {But that's a blog post for another day...}
When your child returns from town and the oven is nice and clean, you attempt to make another cake, not doubled, but one simple and easy cake.... However now, the mixer is B.R.O.K.E.N! Seriously?
Since the mixer is broken and you've come this far, YOU WILL PUSH ON....you send the same child to go buy a mixer, which fortunately can be purchased four miles away!
When the mixer comes and you make the cake, it really is as great as you and your family remembered, however, it has been determined that next year's Fourth of July Holiday will be a nice, quick, quiet three night cruise! Dog sitter wanted....
I wrote about this wonderful recipe before here. You can try it here, it is so easy and simple, but if you double the recipe, put it into two cake pans! < Just a little Public Service Announcement for You!
Oh my goodness!!! That cruise sounds perfect ;)
