Saturday Swap Day!
Hello Friends,Today the rush of the Thanksgiving holidays is over and we're all preparing to head into December. To help make the month run a little smoother for you and your students, Latoya, from Flying Into Learning and I have put together a little giveaway fun to help you!
Two friends from Flying Into Learning and two friends from Fern Smith's Classroom Ideas will win Latoya's First Grade Morning Work and my Time to the Hour and Half-Hour Task Cards.
This resource comes with 10 weeks of morning work. Fifty-two pages including 10 problems per page, quick and easy if you need to determine an assessment grade. It covers a variety of first grade skills and including the common core number in each box.
This resource would also be perfect for the end of the year for kindergarten or the beginning of the year for second grade, depending on the level of your class. The bottom box of each page is an activity for the blank back of the page for your early finishers! Win ~ Win!
I love how the first problem is for practicing letter writing. I use to have my boys and girls circle the letter they think was their very best effort. That way, in one quick repetitive step you have taught them self reflection of their own work.
I like to have a Morning Work Folder that the students know to get out of a class basket or bucket each morning. By having a class routine and training the students at the beginning of the year, it allows for a quiet, smooth transition into learning. This morning routine also allows you a few minutes to take attendance, pass out a band-aid, answer a family member's question, etc. Latoya's Morning Work is perfect to start this routine right from the beginning of the year.
The students can keep their morning work and any other unfinished work in this folder until they have an opportunity to finish it. Then at the end of the day, papers get turned in according to your routine and the empty folder goes back into the basket for tomorrow!
